For my final bachelor project, I wanted to show I had learnt over the course of my internship by making
a full VR game on my own. The topic of the game would be empathy, specifically emotion recognition. The
game has players taking care of a fictional animal, which has an expressive face.
It is up to the player to read the creature’s emotions and determine its wants and needs. The
creature will sit next to its food bowl when it’s hungry, look out the window when it’s bored, and not
being played with etc.
The biggest development in my skills this project was not just the programming side of making
this demo, but also the aesthetical side. I created all of the assets by myself, including the animal.
