During my master, I wanted to branch out from just creating VR experiences. This was one of the reasons
for this project I looked into AR. The goal for this project was to create a language learning game for
primary school children. It was meant to be simple and playful, simply a way to introduce words and
sentences to these children.
This was done by creating a kind of “mad-libs” game, where children get an incomplete sentence
they add words to. They then get to see the sentence played out visually in AR, allowing them to deduct
the meaning of the sentence.
In this project, I took up much more of a leading role in my team then I had before. I took
charge of the protype, and would give my team member tasks, such as creating the 3D models.
Due to the outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic, this project suffered a bit from having to switch
to work from home, and not being able to conduct proper user tests with the target group. All in all, I
am happy with the final result.
